Coral Review

Formed in 1926, Coral is a Nottingham-based operation which is now part of the Ladbrokes Coral group, after Gala Coral and Ladbrokes merged in 2016 to form the UK’s biggest bookmakers. Coral have a major high street presence and regularly advertise across platforms, so are well-known to the seasoned bettor and the man on the street alike. They have grown to become one of the major online players in the market.

SIGN UP OFFER
In terms of sign-up offers, Coral’s ‘bet £5 get £20 in free bets’ is not the highest but it is a very low deposit amount, and their ongoing offers are superb, so we’ll forgive them. To receive the free bet, you must sign up and place a bet at a minimum of £5 stake, on odds of at least 1/2 (1.50) within 14 days of registration. You will then receive 4 £5 free bets to be used within 7 days. As an aside, any free bets gained from ongoing promotions often do not have the longest shelf life with Coral, so make sure you use them promptly.

MARKETS & ODDS
Generally, odds competitiveness is good, and the array of events and sports covered is superb, with additional coverage of lotto, TV show specials, election results etc. The in play offering from Coral is among the best out there with a huge number of events able to be bet on and watched live. In play markets are comprehensive, easy to find and use, and the cash out function across in-play and non in-play bets is comprehensive and useful. Coral are one of the most respected in play bookies out there thanks to this comprehensiveness, and also their huge range of events which can be live streamed on the website. Coral are great if you enjoy more novelty bets, or having a flutter on politics.
WEBSITE AND APP
As with Betfred, the website could be doing with a bit of stripping out as it’s a bit gaudy, but it’s difficult to squeeze so much in, I guess, and it’s certainly not the worst betting website out there. Menus, though perhaps a little to numerous, are fairly clear and easy to navigate. The betslip populates quickly, and we like both the search bar at the top to quickly get to where you want to be betting, and also the ability to customise your favourite links on the menu bar on the left. The app is clean and easy to use, and live chat is generally quick and friendly.

ONGOING OFFERS
Coral offer a variety of valuable promotions, including a weekly bet club, which we appreciate. Bet £25 each week and the following week they’ll give you a free £10 bet to use (broken down as £5 online and £5 to use in a store). At selected horse meetings, they will refund your stake, up to £25, if your horse is second by a length or less. During the football season there are many risk free in-play bet offers you can take up, as well as a 10% bonus paid on top of winning 4+ team accumulators.  Finally, like many of the big boys, Coral offer best odds guaranteed on horse racing.
