William Hill Review

For many, this is the big high street bookmaker in the UK. Their presence on most high streets in UK towns, sponsoring of events across the sporting spectrum, and their long history make them one of the true big beasts in UK betting.

SIGN UP OFFER
When you sign up, WillHill will gift you £30 of free bets. To avail yourself of the sign up offer, use code C30 when registering, place a bet of £10 at minimum odds of 1/2 (1/50) and you will receive three £10 bets. Bet winnings from free bets will not include the stake, and each way bets will only include the win part of your qualifying bet.

MARKETS AND ODDS
Unsurprisingly, WillHill really do deliver on the breadth of sports, events, and markets therein. If you’re looking for a one-stop-shop for gambling, William Hill is a great place to go. They quite simply have everything, from the biggest sporting events to the really niche (anyone for Bandy?). Odds value is fairly average in the sector, so don’t expect to get market leading value as their traders are fairly quick to cut when serious backing appears. That said, you won’t get grilled by too-low odds either.

WEBSITE & APP
For us, personally, the app is far preferable to the website, which we find is just a bit of a mess. There’s quite a few banners advertising their promotions across their brands, and there’s something about the way the upcoming events is presented that’s all a bit much for us. Others may disagree. The app, meanwhile, is a very pleasant and calm experience. Different betting areas are clearly laid out along the top, with more quick links at the bottom. The app betslip is very quick to update and you will be told before you place the bet if your odds have shifted while you umm and ahh about whether to select that particular horse. There’s nothing worse than getting that ‘odds have changed’ message after you hit ‘place bet’.

ONGOING OFFERS
When it comes to ongoing offers, you’re well-set at William Hill. Their offers focus around British staples of horse racing and football. A particular highlight is 4MeansMore – on selected matches, if your team wins and 4 or more goals are scored, you get a 15% bonus as a free bet, up to £50. High5 is a horse racing offer of a 15% bonus (paid as a free bet) if your horse wins by 5 lengths or more (selected meetings). During the flat season they run a similar offer but it’s 2 lengths. Drive55 awards the same 15% bonus on top of certain NFL winning bets if there are over 55 points in the match.

Currently, William Hill are running daily price boosts (one per day) so customers can take a higher price on whatever it is they’re betting on. 5+ team acca insurance is available (up to £20 refund, one per day), as are best odds guaranteed on horses. Finally, Hills are generous with regular boosted prices before and during many events, so there are plenty reasons to keep checking the app even after an event has started.
